Personal Project

What is a library? This was the question that acted as a starting point for this project. New York Public Library is the second largest library in America, a institution that have a focus on knowledge and ideas. I wanted to explore what knowledge is and also how this is presented. Is a library more than a physical space? How can we explore the way to knowledge?

The website I created is all about space. Using modules that sits on a strict grid to represent the space of architecture with sections and subsections organized to be easy to navigate and at the same time interesting and engaging. For the printed part of the project I made a booklet that is very conceptual. Here I let ideas collide and connect with each other, showing how the library is a place where all kinds of information can be found. I wanted it to show the strength of diversity, something I think is an important part of New York as well as libraries in general.
