This project was about creating a new identity for KLM, Royal Dutch Airlines. Establishment in 1919, KLM is the Netherlands flag carrier airline. It is the oldest airline in the world still operating under its original name and it is a brand that has tradition and trust as their most prominent features. The feel of the brand is strict but calm. The company is modern and new technology is a very important role in the brands identity.
I wanted to create a well designed brand that is both welcoming and modern combined with tradition and trust, to give the brand an identity that is both bold and contemporary while keeping the elements of tradition in mind. I also wanted to visually express the feeling of Dutch design as a thread throughout the project from colors and logotype to typography.
